Family Fun Day and Over 26 v Under 26 Match

3 months ago By Andrew Davies

Great day had by all with the young whipper snappers sneaking a victory

Sunday 7th May saw the OAs Family Fun Day. A great day was had by all with raffles, inflatables and touch rugby taking place concluding with the Over 26 vs Under 26 game for the Rick Wilson Memorial Cup.

The was played in four quarters and game started with two quick tries for the Over 26 team with a scrum that the younger boys were struggling to cope with. From there the Under 26s slowly fought back over the first three quarters with tries scored being level at the end of this period. In the fourth quarter, youthful stamina shone through potentially as some of the older chaps had one eye on the bar, as the Under 26s ran in a flurry of tries to finish.

Thanks and congratulations to all involved in both the game and the day as a whole which was a huge success. It is great to see the whole club together enjoying some fun in the sun and several people commented about looking forward to next year. It was also great to see several of the Academy Players playing some excellent rugby for the Under 26 team who will hopefully be incorporated into the Seniors next year.
